Crates
The grains in the wooden walls,
Are just within finger reach
Maybe if my skin could brush
The framework soon would breach
Don't you see I am a crane
That you conveniently nailed in a crate
I am a queen stuck in a frame
That won't ever let me be great
I don't need your approval
For my wings are broad of wake
My beak is a golden spear
And my claws are sharp of strength
See the way you angered me
Your disbelief injected my eye
With molten bronze and icy stone
Oh, now you fear to die
Pathetic mortal, do not fear
Now that my cage splinters to break
Now that I'm free I wouldn't stay here
It's not worth the life it would take
Are just within finger reach
Maybe if my skin could brush
The framework soon would breach
Don't you see I am a crane
That you conveniently nailed in a crate
I am a queen stuck in a frame
That won't ever let me be great
I don't need your approval
For my wings are broad of wake
My beak is a golden spear
And my claws are sharp of strength
See the way you angered me
Your disbelief injected my eye
With molten bronze and icy stone
Oh, now you fear to die
Pathetic mortal, do not fear
Now that my cage splinters to break
Now that I'm free I wouldn't stay here
It's not worth the life it would take
