Visitors

I recently took the time to upload a viewer counter for penning4thoughts. I have wanted one for a while, but never got around to finding and adding a good one to my homepage. I'm pretty excited with the subtle, yet encouraging result.

Like most bloggers, I'm always haunted by the thought that none of this gets out to anyone. That no one (except you, mom) ever takes a second glance. It's such a disheartening idea, to consider that I might be speaking, writing into a black hole. Especially when all I want is it know that my writing has helped someone somewhere to feel...something.

Getting on this morning and seeing almost 30 visitors wouldn't be a big deal to some people, but it moved me almost to tears. Thank you, readers, for existing. Whoever you are, I appreciate you more than you can imagine. Please keep coming back. And if something touches you, spread the word. I will be here.
