From the Corner Painted in Red Ink

With writing, it seems arrogant to live in the land of stylistic absolutes, but my peevishness with common choices (not necessarily errors) seems valid - and justified.
Sometimes I wonder if this OCD-ness can actually limit my creativity, making me only a more paranoid writer, and not actually a better one. Banishing the passion to a corner painted in red ink.
This leads me to ask you - not rhetorically, I really want your input - what kinds of writerly grammar habits just make you want to extract your own teeth? And would even you admit instances when they are permissable?
A few of mine: exclamation points (in ANY context, even dialogue, I can't stand them), beginning paragraphs with the same word consecutively (especially names), any form of "to feel," and there are so many more.
