Idea Killer

I find myself shutting down my creative mind far too often. Rather than saving an idea, silly as it may seem, sometimes the gremlins in my head will jabber in my ear, urging me to let them slip.

"Bad, bad idea!" They squeal. "Don't even bother. It's a waste of your post-it paper."

But I just had an idea the other night, before falling asleep, that (though little and unobtrusive on its own) led to the completely solution of HUGE plot holes of my book. On Wednesday, I was flying so high you probably couldn't have recognized me for the clouds and sunshine.

In other words, no idea by itself is a bad idea. It's been said before by much better writers than I. Why, oh why, do I so often ignore their advice?
