I Took the Red Pill

                                         

Everyone, last night at approximately 8:30 PM, Alex Newman finished the first draft of her fantasy novel (the title of which will be disclosed on December 31st, 2010). This first draft totals 271 pages (est. 62,330 words) in 253 days.

Needless to say, upon its completion, I leapt out of my chair and began to dance around the house like a madwoman.

Even now, combating a terrible case of full-body hives (thank you, recently kindled kiwi allergy) and drowsy on meds, I can't help but grin at this computer screen with gratuitous satisfaction.

I have 111 days left to complete second and third draftings of this book. It's going to get harder, but you guys stuck with me this far.
